What is hypnosis? All hypnosis is self hypnosis- if you can relax and imagine, you can be hypnotised. As you enter a deeply relaxed yet focussed state through guided visualisations, your subconscious mind will only accept suggestions that you truly want or believe in. This state is similar to the one we enter when daydreaming or driving whilst on "auto pilot." At all times you can choose to ignore the suggestions or return to full consciousness and in all Birth Magic sessions you will be able to recall the process. Through hypnosis it is possible to re program the subconscious mind to relax deeply throughout labour and allow the body's endorphins, love hormones, to soften the sensations of labour. Many women report little and even no pain whilst using hypnobirth techniques. Reiki is a healing technique that was developed in the late 1920's in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui. It is a form of channelled healing where Universal Life Force Energy passes through the channeller's hands into the recipient and flows to where it is needed most. Reiki feels like heat or tingling and is deeply relaxing, healing mind, body and soul. It can be used to complement medical treatments and reduce side effects. Treatments are performed fully clothed either sitting or lying on a massage table.
